Namasthe. At the outset let me thank all those who have responded to my mails.
It shows clearly that I am in a group of like-minded people who have abundant passion in participating in unconditional services. During this brief trip to evaluate our strengths and shortcomings in all the necessary sectors, I have come across loads of thoughts from a varied cross section of people. Since such may be the apprehensions of any others, I have taken permission from those who voiced it, to share with you, without any mention of the author of the thought. [Voiced Thoughts later in this document]
I like each one of you to go through this and then we shall subsequently go ahead to see the proposed structure as we meet next probably in Chennai.
Since it was all started keeping our interest- to- serve in mind, let me list out here the gross sectors we can involve together within the purview of the objectives of the TRUST.
awareness programs on health and hygiene
awareness in living with nature [ vegetarianism, naturopathy, usage of herbal and other natural products]
encouraging women self help group to opt to work with products and other utility products
developing quality life style practices with niyama and meditation
instituting scholarships and fellowships towards further implementations of peaceful and harmonious community establishments
harvesting the technology and expertise towards cheap and best therapies for happy and joyous living [ visuals, music, painting etc]
developing the green park in the entire belt through non conventional energy sources
to bring out more than the best out of every other child through the concept level teaching, guidance and counseling in and around Thiruvannamalai
start a residential school for overall development
Most of the above- mentioned objectives have been tried out in a small scale. Now what we are looking for is for the entire belt of people who are going to live with us in Thiruvannamalai.
Some voiced that it is impossible to do all this in one life-time and that too when we are about to retire in few years from the services. Evaluating and assessing all our strengths put together, I am confident together we can achieve this.
The modus of operation in my opinion is as follows:
§ let us feel good
§ let us have a commitment beyond our closed circle
§ let us stop complaining about the system because we are part of it
§ nothing is stronger and forceful than the first step towards volunteering
§ let us not be hungry of the recognitions and awards
§ let us not fuel our ego and false prestige
§ let us think of the bigger picture and contribute towards that as a team
§ there is no right or wrong when the intentions are pure and unconditional
§ let us think little beyond our strengths and stretch it to the maximum
§ we can also get the feeling of a “hero” once we push ourselves together
§ 24 hours given to each one of us is more than enough to do everything what we want to do. So never feel worked up since there is always a style even in hard times
§ let us have the gratitude to ourselves and to the entire system who is going to allow us work together and achieve that harmony and sense of completeness.
§ Pledging our strengths as a team will give more strength to oneself and others.
§ Castles were not built in a day – so let us phase out and work towards the goal.
VOICED THOUGHTS:
Following are the points / feedbacks / suggestions / requests …….
I have reworded some to represent many mean alike opinions together.
Ø the nest must allow anyone who wants to do the services irrespective of age
Ø the facilities can be optional and can be charged as and when used nominally [80% feel so]
Ø elders nest will be a strong community – I want to be part of it and I will feel proud to be part of it [ 12 year old child]
Ø all the inmates can be in the typical home like atmosphere there itself
Ø while still at service / study we can still be part of the social services through the TRUST
Ø What can we do to be a member of the organization and get the opportunity to do the services through this TRUST?
Ø We are not able to predict when we will ever become old. So until then how can we contribute through the focused objectives of yours?
Ø From outside can I participate in selective services of yours, which is my passion? For that what should I do?
Ø If my old aged parents are there with you, I can be relaxed at work and can contribute qualitatively. Tell me when you are starting the project and how to block my membership as a volunteer.
Ø As youngsters living abroad, we want to be part of your services whenever and whatever possible. How can I register myself
Ø I like the community but I cannot live there since I am only 28. But I would like to participate from outside in sectors I am interested in. Does your scheme allow that?
Ø With my sons settled abroad, I live alone with my wife, who is too weak. When I can participate in your service activities, she cannot. I see scope of doing many things through your TRUST activities before I really become old. Tell me as to when you are starting the project and how can I reserve my room now?
Ø Etc…
THE GROUND REALITY
While many of you hesitated to convey the actual scenario I shall put forward a non- conservative, all beneficial, reduced risk, lessened apprehensive, more transparent, highly simplified, reasonably comfortable, individualistically tailored proposal when we meet next at Chennai.
The synopsis however is this:
- elders nest welcomes all age groups to participate in its services
- those opting to stay as inmates after their retirement, will have some concessions as against the inmates of the old-aged home run in parallel
- all those volunteering to be part of the activities need to register themselves by giving the details of name, address, age, ph, e-mail, occupation, office address/college/school, activity of your interest, availability of time
The rest in person at Chennai.
Your participation in any form will add strength to the totality.
It feels great to be part of this
